Candid discussions on Freemasonry and the Western Esoteric Traditions

Tria Prima Podcast Episode 1

Welcome to the Trip Prima Podcast, a show about Freemasonry and the Western Esoteric Tradition.

Jaime, Jake and I have been talking about making a podcast and digital magazine for a while. We all met at Ascension Lodge #89, a traditional observance lodge in Phoenix, Arizona. Both Jaime Paul Lamb and Jake Trayer are founding members of the lodge. I’m the lodge’s second initiate and still new in my Masonic journey.

The idea behind this podcast bubbled up from our conversations over lunch. Jaime is a published Masonic author and one of the most well read and studied Masons I’ve met. Jake is an inquisitive and dedicated student of the Western Esoteric tradition, a Master Mason and Templar Knight. I’m probably a lot like the listener- someone interested in the esoteric and looking for meaning in the world.

Our conversations usually start with a simple question. Where they go from there wander between Freemasonry, tarot, the occult, Hermetic Qabalah and other parts of the Western Esoteric Tradition. I always leave these conversations with both a greater understanding and awareness of new topics I want to explore.

These are all our opinions. There is no right or wrong. How one person finds meaning in the symbols and allegories may be different than the meaning another person finds. For me, the real secret of the esoteric is that the act of uncovering that with is hidden is the reward.

I hope you find these conversations helpful in your journey. Please drop us an email if you have any questions or suggestions for topics.

Show notes

In this episode we talk about how we met and dive into the meaning of why we are calling this podcast and site Tria Prima. We talk about what we consider to be the Western Esoteric Tradition, the differences between Kabbalah and Qabbalah and about Jaime’s new stardom on Facebook.

We will be posting new episodes every two weeks. We are in the process of getting the podcast onto all the platforms. Hopefully in a few weeks we will be on Apple Podcasts, Stitcher and Spotify. If you sign up for the newsletter we’ll let you know when you can subscribe.
